They look to go down as another overblown, bloated payroll. No lessons learned from the Yankees, Arte is going to saddle this team for the next decade.

Sure looks that way. I really didn't like the Hamilton signing. Looking at his home-road splits you can see Texas was extremely favorable for him so moving to a much less hitter-friendly environment was going to stymie his production. When will these owners realize that shorter duration contracts is the way to go.

Add the Dodgers and Blue Jays to that list. Buying or trading for bloated contracts never builds a winner. Red Sox started going in this direction at the end of Theo's reign, and then luckily got bailed out by the Dodgers.
