Need the help gang. It is an 8 team league and I am in 6th place with top 4 making the playoffs. I will be giving up Justin Verlander, Ian Kinsler, and Jay Bruce. I will be getting Cole Hamels, Rex Brothers, Josh Hamilton, Starling Marte, Torii Hunter, and Dan Uggla. And also if this trade is legit who should I drop?
My starting pitching: J. Zimmerman, Max Scherzer, Kershaw, Iwakuma, Hudson, Lincecum, Santiago from White Sox, Kennedy,Teheran, Kluber Clevland. Relief Pitching: Grilli, Perkins, Putz, Uehara, Melancon, Axford, Betancourt. Catchers: Santana, McCain, 1B: Adam Lind, 2B Hill, Utley, David Murphy. 3B: David Freese, A Ramirez Mil, Sandoval. SS: Reyes, Segura Mil, Ramirez CWS. OF Cruz, Heyward, McLouth, Werth. Categories: Runs, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and Ks, Wins, SV, ERA, and WHIP. We start 15 pitchers and C, 1b, 2b 3b, SS, 1b/3b, 2b/SS, 5 OF, and UT. Thanks for all your help!

I don't like the trade for you. I'll break it down by position.
Pitcher: I like Verlander more than Hamels so I see this as a downgrade (and not just a slight one)
2b: I'd rather stick with Kinsler, Utley and Hill than switch to Uggla. Uggla is a batting average killer.
OF: You have Cruz, Heyward, Bruce and McLouth (for the speed) as your starting 4. So, with Werth as your 5th I can see wanting an upgrade. That being said, Hamilton is lost. He's no longer in the comfy confines of Texas and therefore is no longer an elite hitter. I don't see Marte and Hunter as big upgrades over anyone you already have. I'd look for a much more minor deal, say moving Kluber and Werth for an upgrade at the OF spot.

Jonathan once again thank you for the advice. This guy trying to make the trade always seems to get the best of them (really knows his stuff). Any advice on moving some players to upgrade my OF?

Mickey. I think at this point, I'd look to package a few players for one big upgrade. Try to sell high on a Kluber or Teheran and perhaps combine them with Reyes or Al. Ramirez since you already have Segura locked in at SS. Either that or perhaps package one of your closers in the deal as well. You don't need that many closers as new ones pop up all the time.

Jon, thanks for the advice. I decided to pull the trigger on an even bigger blockbuster. Hope I did well.. I received De La Rosa, Torii Hunter, Austin Jackson, Johnny Peralta, and Prince Fielder (Go Tiger, I am from Detriot) I gave up Verlander, Bruce, Kinsler, and Reyes. Tweak my bench a little grabbing Ibanez, Martin from Tex, and Morrison from Mia. Hope this will get me in the top 4 for the playoffs. Would like to hear your opinion on the trade. Hope all is good. Mickey.

And also my SP... Grabbed Perez Tex, Westbrook, Beachy starting rehab, and put a claim out for Turner Mia. And what are your thoughts on A Rod??? Only 3b on my team is the Panda Bear, and he's looking like a teddy bear lately. Mickey

I think the trade is pretty even. Verlander, Bruce, Kinsler and Reyes is a lot to give up, especially in terms of speed, but I love Fielder and Jackson is a damn good player. Peralta is playing over his head but sometimes luck can continue for a full season. We've seen that with the final player Torii Hunter. His BABIP the last few years has been ridiculously high but for some reason, he continues to maintain these good levels of luck so ride the wave.
As for Arod, the guy is done. Forget that he's Alex Rodriguez. Forget the 40 homer, 100 RBI seasons ever existed. The question you need to ask yourself is whether a .270-20-75-70 type of 3B is something you need to have on your bench and/or whether that's better than any of the younger, currently producing options that are sitting on the waiver wire. That's how I'd approach Arod. Forget his name and just focus on the potential production.
