I liked Castro this year as a sleeper and then he started off the year 0 for 14. What can I expect from him this year? Anyone expecting anything to get excited about?

I was high on Castro coming into the season as well. His surge last year where he had an OPS north of .800 looked like a sign of things to come. I wouldn't get too discouraged after only 15 at-bats. He's only struck out 4 times so he's putting the ball in play. He was a top prospect coming through the Astros system and he's still only 25 years old. That being said, catchers often take longer to develop their offensive game as they spend so much time in the minors working on defense and calling games. Remember a guy like Jason Varitek was a first round pick and didn't debut until he was 25 and didn't really hit until he turned 27. Castro might not be an all-star this year but he certainly has sleeper potential in a deep league or one that starts two catchers.
Good luck.

I did not have him as a top 20 catcher but one week is too soon to give up on someone.

I like Castro as a relatively cheap #2 catcher. Not sure he will have mixed league value in 1 catcher leagues, but 15 homers at the expense of average seems reasonable this year
